27 Shtator 2025, një ditë e veçantë për Shoqatën “Bijtë e Shqipes”, shkollën shqipe “Gjuha Jonë”, për komunitetin shqiptar në Filadelfia dhe më gjerë. Këtë të shtunë, patëm nderin e madh të mirëpresim Presidenten e Republikës së Kosovës, Shkëlqesinë e Saj, Dr. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu. Atmosferë festive, ngjyra kombëtare, muzikë dhe zëra fëmijësh mbushën Shtëpinë e Shqiptarit, duke i dhënë ngjarjes një frymë të ngrohtë dhe atdhetare. Presidentja Osmani, e shoqëruar nga këshilltarja e saj e parë, znj. Donika Kadaj Bujupi, u prit me respekt dhe entuziazëm nga kryetari i Shoqatës “Bijtë e Shqipes”, z. Dritan Matraku, këshilli drejtues i shoqatës, si dhe nga nxënësit e shkollës shqipe “Gjuha Jonë”.
Siç e do tradita, kryetari Matraku i uroi mirëseardhjen Presidentes, duke theksuar nderin dhe privilegjin që ndjen e gjithë shoqata dhe komuniteti shqiptar për praninë e saj. Takimi vijoi me fjalën e Presidentes Dr. Osmani, e cila shprehu mirënjohje të thellë për punën e palodhur të shkollës “Gjuha Jonë” në mësimin e gjuhës shqipe për fëmijët e diasporës. Ajo theksoi rëndësinë që gjuha shqipe të ruhet dhe të trashëgohet brez pas brezi. Po ashtu, Presidentja vuri në dukje marrëdhëniet e ngushta mes Kosovës dhe Shteteve të Bashkuara, ku diaspora shqiptare luan një rol kyç si urë bashkëpunimi.
Në shenjë vlerësimi për kontributin dhe mesazhet e saj, Kryesia e Shoqatës i akordoi Presidentes titullin “Anëtare Nderi”.
Programi vijoi me këngë dhe recitime nga nxënësit e shkollës shqipe, të cilat u përcollën si dhuratë simbolike për Presidenten. Të pranishëm në këtë ngjarje ishin edhe përfaqësues të shtetit të Pensilvanisë dhe të Këshillit Bashkiak të qytetit të Filadelfias: Senator Joe Picozzi, State Representative Pat Gallagher, Councilman Michael Driscoll, dhe Drejtori Ekzekutiv i Zyrës për Çështjet e Emigrantëve, z. Charles Elison. Në fjalën e tij, z. Elison theksoi rëndësinë e komunitetit shqiptar për zhvillimin e qytetit dhe shtoi se kishte pasur rastin të shërbente më parë në Kosovë, duke ruajtur kujtime dhe lidhje të veçanta me vendin tonë. Nga komuniteti shqiptar, përshëndetën edhe Dr. Sadik Elshani dhe z. Leo Osmanollaj, të cilët shprehën mirënjohje për praninë e Presidentes dhe mbështetjen e vazhdueshme ndaj diasporës.
Në fund të vizitës, Presidentja Osmani u njoh nga afër me ambientet e Shtëpisë së Shqiptarit dhe punën këmbëngulëse për rikonstruksionin e saj, një ndërtesë që sot përfaqëson zemrën e komunitetit shqiptar në Filadelfia. Si shenjë simbolike, ajo u dhuroi nxënësve të shkollës sonë Abetare, ndërsa mësueseve të shkollës “Gjuha Jonë” u dhuroi varëse që simbolizojnë historinë dhe forcën e të mbijetuarave të dhunës seksuale gjatë luftës në Kosovë.
Presidentja u përcoll me respekt dhe mirënjohje nga të gjithë të pranishmit. Kjo vizitë do të mbetet përgjithmonë në kujtesën dhe historinë e Shoqatës “Bijtë e Shqipes”, jo vetëm si vizita e përfaqësueses më të lartë të Republikës së Kosovës, por si momenti kur një grua me zemër të madhe, plot thjeshtësi dhe bujari, i dha frymëzim komunitetit tonë.
