Figura e Akademik Ismajlit është një ndër shtyllat më të fuqishme të dijes shqiptare. Ai i ka dhënë zë e përmbajtje shkencore gjuhës sonë, e ka trajtuar atë si thelb identitar, dhe ka qenë ndër më të zëshmit në mbrojtjen e vlerave kombëtare nëpërmjet shkencës dhe veprës së tij.
Në këtë dekorim, Presheva nderon një personalitet që i ka dhënë shumë kombit, por që edhe për ne këtu, në këtë cep të ndjeshëm të hapësirës shqiptare, përfaqëson një shembull frymëzimi, qëndrese dhe përkushtimi ndaj fjalës, dijes dhe identitetit.
Në këtë rast solemn, u ndalëm edhe tek një nga thëniet më të njohura të tij, që për ne përbën udhërrëfim:

Në emër të qytetarëve të Komunës së Preshevës, i shpreha mirënjohjen më të thellë për veprën e tij madhore dhe ndikimin e pashlyeshëm që ka pasur dhe do të ketë në jetën akademike, kulturore dhe shpirtërore të kombit tonë.
Ky dekorim është simbolikë e lidhjes së Preshevës me trungun e dijes dhe kulturës shqiptare, dhe një kujtesë se fjala, gjuha dhe dija janë mënyrat më të larta për të ruajtur identitetin.
